Court Finally Sentences Ghanaian Couple Who Pounded Fufu on 7th Floor in Amsterdam

Reports coming in from Amsterdam has that, the two Ghanaians who were arrested a few days ago in Amsterdam for pounding Fufu on the 7th floor at around 11pm have been finally sentenced by a court.

According to ScrewLife.Com’s Amsterdam correspondent-Stacy Powell, the couple’s lawyer put forth series of interesting arguments but the judge did not blink.

Per the lawyer’s first argument, his clients are from Kumasi, a city in Ghana where fufu remains the only food capable of full satisfaction.

The lawyer explained that his clients can never have a good sleep without eaingt fufu and as such, even if they have rice or any other food for dinner, the only way they will consider themselves as really full is to top it up with fufu.

The presiding judge is reported to have had no problem with the choice of food—and said “they can eat whatever food they want. The issue under contention is to do with nuisance at odd hours and not what a person eats or does not eat.”

The couple’s lawyer then mounted his second argument, saying, the couple have 3 jobs and they get home usually at 10pm—hence the odd time of cooking and pounding.

The lawyer quickly added that, with over 200 people back home relying on his clients for financial support, having 3 jobs each is the only way they can afford to support many of these people.

Despite all the seemingly good arguments, Stacy Powell tells ScrewLife.Com that “the judge kept rolling his eyes” and said “the couple cannot reasonably be expected to be allowed to continue with their nuisance and there is no legal justification or mitigation for what they did.”

As such, the couple were handed down 2 years suspended sentence—and for the two years, they’ve been ordered not to make any ‘prekese soup’ or ‘pound fufu’ anywhere in Netherlands.

According to the lawyer of the couple, his clients will appeal since they cannot live for even a month without their delicious ‘preskese soup’ and ‘fufu’—and they are not going to consider the tasteless neat fufu.
