Kwabena Donkor

With just about 4 days for Ghana’s Power Minister-Dr. Kwabena Donkor to resign for his failure to fix dumsor after having promised Ghanaians he will resign by the end of the year if dumsor still exists—he says, no matter what happens there is a brighter side of dumsor since it has made his ministry and himself very popular in Ghana.

Dr. Kwabena Donkor who spoke on Sunyani’s Star fm on Christmas day stated that he has not decided yet if he will really resign because Ghanaians knew from day one he didn’t mean what he said—and that the statement was just to convey his commitment to solving dumsor.

“It’s true I said that but every Ghanaian knew at the time that I was just trying to convey to them how committed I was to solving the power crisis and not to literally resign,” he said.

He continued “who resigns from such a luxurious political position where you enjoy free security, accommodation, free food, free fuel and free women?”

The Minister added that “for me, it’s not about whether dumsor has ended by the end of December or not but it should be about the progress I have made since I became the Minister. In fact, I should be commended for what I have been able to achieve within the shortest possible time.”

For now, most Ghanaians are patentiently waiting to see if the Minister will indeed resign on 1st January, 2015—but ScrewLife.Com is reliably informed that, he is not going anywhere.
