Moven Pick Hotel in Accra is notorious for its discriminatory rules—which make it impossible for women without male escorts to enjoy their bars and other facilities.

Interestingly, there is a pending court case by some professional Ghanaian women who have asked the supreme court of Ghana to look at this seemingly unacceptable practice—and strike it out as unconstitutional.

Now, a ScrewLife.Com reader who claims to have visited the pool side of the hotel in Accra this weekend with her male dog because that was the only way she could have been granted access as a single woman—faced an unfortunate incident when her dog strayed and fell into the pool while she was taking some selfies for instagram.

With a life guard by the side of the pool, she shouted for help—and then the life guard immediately jumped into the pool.

We are told the moment the life guard jumped into the pool, the dog jumped out but that was not the end of it—the life guard who was supposed to be a good swimmer started drowning and shouting for help.

A white man who was on his phone had to quickly jump into the pool to save the life guard, else, it could have been a different story.

The reader told us that “if the hotel did not have this ridiculous policy in place, I wouldn’t have gone there with my dog—let alone to nearly kill a life guard who could not swim to save his own life.”

We hear the incident shocked the officials of the hotel, and apart from intending to send the life guard on a swimming course in Kumasi, they may end their ‘no female alone’ policy even before the Supreme Court decides.

Perhaps, President Mahama will soon reward the dog for causing a desirable change if the hotel abolishes its discriminatory policy on women.

Apparently, the swimming pool life guard told friends that “he was feeling sleepy that’s why he couldn’t swim really well to save his own life.”
