The two ex-detainees

The two ex-Gitmo detainees

For some time now, the acceptance of the two ex-Gitmo detainees (Mahmmoud Omar Mohammed Bin Atef and Khalid Shaykh Muhammad) by the government of Ghana has been the talk of town, with most Ghanaians criticizing the first gentleman of the land, President John Dramani Mahama, for being insensitive to the feelings of Ghanaians.

Though Mahmmoud Omar Mohammed Bin Atef and Khalid Shaykh Muhammad did not come to Ghana on their own, Ghanaians have not spared them from the numerous insults – saying they are terrorists who pose threat to the country’s security.

This, ScrewLife.Com is told the two gentlemen are not happy with the way Ghanaians are insulting them unpityingly.

Speaking to a national security personnel Friday morning, Mahmmoud Omar Mohammed Bin Atef said they “are humans with feelings just like any other Ghanaian.” According to him, their emotions have been crushed by Ghanaians.

In view of that, the two ex-Gitmo convicts who have become instant celebrities in Ghana are appealing to the government of Ghana to send them back to Guantanamo before the unfortunate happens.

“Ghanaians have been very mean and hostile towards us. There hasn’t been a single day that we do not hear our names on radio and TV. We are unable to sleep at night because we are traumatized. If care is not taken, we might lose our lives.”

“We are appealing to the Ghanaian government to send us back to Guantanamo Bay detention camp. Honestly, some insults are more deadly than terrorist attacks, capable of killing innocent souls, and that’s exactly what Ghanaians are exhibiting. We are not prepared to die from insults because we love our lives,” the two cried out.
