After boxing great-Manny Pacquia’s anti-gay remarks which the Sports Giant-NIKE found repugnant and therefore terminated their endorsement deal with him, NIKE has signed Ghana’s Dr. Bernice Welbeck as its new ambassador.

Dr. Bernice Welbeck who is Ghana’s Acting Executive Secretary of the National Labour Commission will present NIKE in sub-Sahara Africa and will do everything reasonably possible to promote the brand.

As a new ambassador, Dr. Bernice Welbeck recently decided to show her commitment to NIKE by drawing the sports wear’s famous ‘tick sign’ at the back of her eyebrows—so that each and everyone who has not heard of the brand would notice it by just looking at her face.

And it worked, she has since become the talk of social media—something NIKE is extremely happy about and has therefore increased the initial agreed amount for her endorsement.

A spokesperson for NIKE-Stella Griffiths told us that “NIKE is excited about its relationship with Dr. Bernice Welbeck. We have had several ambassadors in the past but her methods are uniquely effective. Drawing us on her face is legendary, our creative experts had never even thought of this until her arrival.”

Dr. Bernice Welbeck has a two year deal with NIKE, with the primarily responsibility of positioning the brand well within the minds and faces of Africans.
