Hassan Ayariga, former PNC’s presidential flagbearer and now the candidate for his own political party-APC has thrown a piercing jab at Ghana’s President-John Mahama that, he should not glorify himself in his new honorary doctorate degree and should rather focus on eradicating the hardships on the shoulders of Ghanaians.

Speaking to Peace Fm this evening, Hassan Ayariga congratulated President Mahama on the honour done him—but proceeded to say, it’s not really about doctorate degrees but solving the hovering economic and social problems facing Ghanaians.

He said “President Mahama should not be big headed about having been granted a doctorate degree—rather, he should focus on uplifting the living standard of every Ghanaian, the reason why he was voted into power.”

“If it was about doctorate degrees, then Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom would have been president long ago. It’s about competent and being able to deliver—so President Mahama shouldn’t celebrate, for the fight ahead is going to be tough,” Ayariga said.

Hassan Ayariga also added that, he has received several invitations from various North Korean universities to be honoured with a professorship and doctorate degrees but he has always declined them as they don’t really extend his life span on earth—hence of no real benefit to him.
