Kumasi Woman Names Her Daughter Kumkum Bhagya | Says Her Child Looks Just Like the TV Character
A Kumasi based woman of 34 years old has joyfully named her second daughter KumKum Bhagya—a name she picked from the popular Adom TV’s soap opera with the same name.
According to the woman, Comfort Antwi-Duah, she has never missed any episode of the now popular in Ghana TV series and she has fallen deeply in love with Kumkum.
Apparently, because she watches so much of the TV series, her new born baby looks just like KumKum Bhagya and as such saw it prudent to seal the deal by naming the child after the TV character.
Speaking to Kumasi based Hello Fm, Antwi-Duah said; “I am happy that my daughter loves her Indian name-KumKum Bhagya. She smiles any time I call her that, an indication that she loves it.”
She explained, “I have been watching KumKum Bhagya all the time and I even watch the repeat showing. So when my baby was born earlier this month, everyone said she looks like Kumkum and that’s when I decided to start calling her so.”
Asked whether she knows the meaning of the name KumKum Bhagya, she replied; “does that matter? Everyone loves the name and it’s unique.”
An official naming ceremony was held over the weekend at Santasi and apparently, her entire family and friends received the name with excitment since everyone loves KumKum Bhagy.
