According to the Burkinabé football player, he placed a bet that Kotoko would win the game by a lone goal. He said, in order to increase his chances of winning more cash, he decided to bet on which player would receive the second red card of the game.
Asked why he decided to betray his beloved team, Abdoulaye Soulama said he wouldn’t term it as betrayal but a smart and brilliant move of making money.
“My team hasn’t paid me for several months and I’m in need of money. My landlord is always chasing me for his rent. In order to redeem myself, I staked the bet knowing that I would be the one in the goalpost.
