The political climate and conversation in Ghana is indescribably appalling; blame game is the order of the day—with no real work being done to safeguard the interest of the population, even from the side of the opposition.

The incumbent government is grossly incompetent and the opposition parties are literally useless—with some party leaders mostly talking out of their pockets.

The political dialogue lacks any sense of richness and everything is jumped on by a political opponent, blaming the other so to score a political point.

As Ghanaians remember last year’s June 3 disaster, whose surviving victims have become largely unemployed and scattered around Accra with no substantive help from the government—Madam Akua Donkor, founder and leader of Ghana Freedom Party has said the NPP should rightfully carry the blame for everything that happened on June 3.

Such is the existing political discourse around most issues in Ghana.

When asked on Adom Fm why the NPP should bear the blame for the June 3 disaster, she said; “Don’t you know. No one should vote for them because they caused the June 3 disaster. They did that to sabotage John Mahama, same way they are causing Dumsor to make Mahama lose the elections.”

Pushed to explain further, Akua Donkor said another radio station was calling her for her comments on this same issue—and proceeded to placed Adom Fm on hold to go speak to the other radio station, reasonably, to tell them that NPP caused the June 3.
