Badly Burnt June 3rd Survivor Speaks: “God Disappointed & Forsook Me…He Didn’t Answer My Cry Though I Was A Staunch Christian”
A badly burnt, totally disfigured survivor of the June 3, 2015 fire and flood disaster at circle, who describes himself as a formerly staunch Christian, is totally pissed at God for forsaking him on that night, and has vowed to abandon the religion of his family.
Kwajo Oteng, like several others, was caught amidst the flames and waters on that fateful day, and according to him, despite calling out over and over for God to save him, nothing happened, and he got badly burnt, leading to him being hospitalised for the past year.
Oteng called in to Joy Fm a few days ago, just after they interviewed a survivor who claimed God saved her that day- and blasted God for forsaking him.
“I have been a staunch Christian all my life. I went to church every time, I paid my tithes and my offertory. I sang in church, never smoked or drank, and I’ve had only one girlfriend my entire life.
“I’ve done everything God asked of me and more, so I do not understand why I sit here horribly disfigured, with no hope what to do the rest of my life.
“As I lay in the water, horribly burnt, I called out to God many, many, times, and I heard nothing back. It was only by pure dumb luck that I was found.”
Oteng added that those who’ll say he was found because God sent someone to rescue him are describing God’s powers as very limited- in that he cannot prevent the disaster but can only save some disfigured people after it occurs.
“And for those who’ll make excuses that was God, why did he have to let the entire disaster occur so he could save a handful of people? Are we saying those who died deserved to die, or that they were all bad people?”
According to him, he was renouncing his faith because in the one time of extreme need in his life, he has discovered God to be as useless as nipples on a breastplate.
