A 29-year old Ghanaian warehouse worker-Edem Coffie has been arrested and granted bill  in Ontario, Canada over his neighbour’s missing cat, reports local newspaper-Ontario News.

Edem Coffie was picked up by police around 8pm on Wednesday–right after he arrived at his home from work.

Apparently, his white neighhour-Lynn Stewart has reported that she believes Edem stole her missing cat–as another neighbour claims she found pieces of cat bones in a trash can she shares with Edem two days after Lynn’s cat went missing.

Edem was kept at a local police station for about 2 hours and interviewed, says Ontario News.

But he was later granted bail–with the police saying they are investing further.

Edem Coffie who hails from the Volta Region of Ghana told the police he had not set any of his two eyes of Lynn’s cat for a month now and he does not understand the false indictment.
