Russian Diplomat Dies From Eating Nigerian Jollof–Reports Associated Press

An unnamed Russian diplomat who suffered stomach aches just minutes after eating Nigerian Jollof in Lagos has reportedly died, according to Associated Press.

Per the report, the diplomat confused the poorly cooked yellow rice for Ghana Jollof which he had a few years ago in London, at a Ghanaian friend’s party and enjoyed.

Without knowing that there’s a clear palatable difference between Ghana and Nigerian Jollof, he simply ordered for Jollof on the menu at a posh Lagos restaurant.

He was rushed to the hospital a few minutes later and died the next day.
