“We Won’t Pay Any Tax On Luxurious Vehicles” – President of Luxurious Vehicles Association
The finance this afternoon present to the parliament of Ghana a budget review for the year 2018. Contrary to news that they will be an increase in VAT, the government decided to give everybody a well dodge, more especially members of the largest opposition party, the NDC.
The finance minister, Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta however shocked the nation with the introduction of what he call the luxurious vehicles tax. The announcement of this particular tax has not gone down well with many Ghanaians. The most annoyed is the luxurious vehicles owners association of Ghana.
The president of the luxurious vehicles association of Ghana, who decided to remain anonymous has told us that he and all his members will not pay any tax on their luxurious vehicles today or tomorrow. He stated that he does not understand why the government will decide to introduce such a tax.
The president further added that they have already spoken to their lawyers to fill a writ at the supreme court to force the president and his finance minister to rescind their decision.
The secretary of the group, who was the last person to speak to us stated rather angrily that;
“Why will the president decide to do this us? We are rich men in this country and nobody should take is for granted. If they decided to joke with us, we will sell this nation to Donald Trump and buy more luxurious cars and come and use “.
