President Akuffo-Addo’s Free SHS Students Threaten To Boycott School If Rotation Policy Is Implemented
The government of Ghana through it’s minister of education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempah has stated it is seriously considering a proposal to implement a rotation policy for the senior high school. The proposal, the ministry and government believe will help save the free SHS policy of the government, as the number of students who have qualified for senior high school this year has increased tremendously.
Students who wrote the basic education certificate examination this year have however threatened to boycott president Nana Akuffo-Addo free senior high school. Some of the students we spoke to randomly made the point that they don’t understand why the president will decide to do that.
The would be senior high school students stated that they believe the three terms will help them see their boyfriends and girlfriends they will meet in school more than the two terms proposed. They also made the point that it will reduce the amount of “chobo” they will get from their parent. Finally, the students added that it will also reduce the number of canes they will receive in the three term system as compared to this two semester system .
