“The IGP Can Never Say They Won’t Accept SHS Leavers” – Chairman Wontumi
The Ghana police service has in the space of the last two weeks have more controversies than that of the Donald Trump administration. The Inspector General of Police (IGP) has today told the nation about his intentions to introduce some drastic reforms that will help save the image of the police force.
One key reform the IGP stated as part of the many he will be introducing is changing the requirements of people who get into the Ghana police service. The IGP said the requirements will no longer be an she certificate but rather a minimum first degree.
This pronouncement by the IGP, Mr. Asante Appietu has not gone down well with the Ashanti regional chairman of the ruling party. Chairman Wontumi, as he is affectionately called has stated it will never happen as he is alive. He believes that the force will continue to accept SHS Leavers as it help them to employ party people .
“The IGP is not serious. I will never accept that. It will be over my dead body. That is where I put my party people as protocol placement. If he jokes I will fire him myself. I will also make sure he will not eat kokonte for 40 days and make sure Kwesi Nyantakyi use his name in another video”, the angry Chairman Wontumi concluded.
