Ghana over the past few weeks has seen the collapse of about seven of it’s indigenous banks. The blame game like always have taken the center stage in the discussion of what led to these shutdowns.
News game to light recently that pastor Mensah Otabil’s Capital Bank embezzling some 610 million cedis which led to the collapse of the defunct capital bank. Many have roped the man of God into this particular embezzlement.
The Ghana Christian Council has got wind of this matter and after a crunch meeting last night, they have decided to shutdown pastor Mensah Otabil’s ICGC. The secretary of the council, Rev. Obofuor, speaking to us stated they came to this conclusion because Kwaku Bonsam forced them to do so.
He concluded that they have therefore decided to turn all the branches of the church to the banks the man of God collapsed and use the money he recently got from his great works program to invest in these banks. He also warned that they will ban any Christian who uses the I stand With Pastor Mensah Otabil picture.
Pastor Mensah Otabil has however declined to comment on the matter but his personal secretary, Lawyer Kwesi Nyantakyi has said the man of God is clean from all of these allegations. He added that they will be going to court to clear his name soon.
