Good things always come to those who wait. But sometimes, the receivers of such good things are not prepared enough to welcome the good things that come their way.

President John Dramani Mahama, yesterday at the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) office, presented the Vice President’s name to the National Executive Council and Council of Elders of the NDC as the one he has chosen to be his running mate for the 2016 election.

“I must go into the 2016 elections with a running mate. I have had no difficulties settling on my hardworking Vice President as my running mate for the second term,” the president said.

However, Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has rejected the offer, saying he can’t stand the unending insults he’s been receiving from Ghanaians as vice president.

According to him, he wouldn’t dare trade his life for politics. “I’ve been in politics for quite a short time but trust me, Ghanaians have sharp teeth. I sometimes listen to what they say about me and I cry uncontrollably. My wife nearly divorced me because Ghanaians said I was gay. Worst of all, they say I’m not handsome. Is this what you want me to go into? Never,” Paa Kwesi stated.

In a press statement released this morning, the former governor of Bank of Ghana thanked President Mahama for thinking about him but then again pleaded with him (like Jesus beseeching God) to let this cup of suffering pass from him.

When ScrewLife.Com got in touch with the Vice President’s spokesperson and probed further into why Amissah-Arthur has rejected this offer, he said the Vice President has a family to look after so cannot waste his time on people who do not appreciate his efforts.

Meanwhile, our sources at the presidency have hinted us that the President is very happy with Amissah-Arthur’s decision because deep down, he (Mahama) didn’t want to choose him (Paa Kwesi) as his running mate.
