Yvonne-Nelson

Prior to the nomination of ‘Beasts of no Nation’ in the 2015 Ghana Movie Awards, actress/producer-Yvonne Nelson stood against the possibility of the movie being included.

She used every platform she had to drive home her point that the movie should not be nominated as it would deprive her of winning some targeted awards because of its supreme excellence.

But then, all her efforts to get the Netflix movie off the nominations list came to naught when the movie made the list.

Yvonne who championed the not too long ago fruitless dumsor demonstration in Ghana has decided to demonstrate against the nomination of the above movie. This time around, she plans on going butt n*ked to walk the  streets of Accra as a way of letting people know her unprecedented disgust for the nomination of ‘Beasts of no Nation’.

Yvonne told ScrewLife.Com that she has the support of other great actors and actresses such as Eddy Nartey, Yvonne Okoro, Nadia Buari, Van Vicker, Jackie Appiah and Majid Michel. Fans of Yvonne and other actors have also showed interest in supporting their stars.

According to Yvonne Nelson “Ghana Movie Awards is meant to celebrate the local mediocre productions and in that sector, she is the real champion. So she was looking to take home about 10 awards this year. However, the organizers have suddenly upgraded the game with the nomination of ‘Beasts of No Nation’, which means if she is not luckily, she wouldn’t even win a single award this year because of how high the bar has been raised to.”

The demonstration will take place on the 23rd of December 2015. Demonstrators will gather at the Obra spot and march all the way to the Conference Center—n*ked.
