Following her recent visit to Italy with President John Dramani Mahama, founder of Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Madam Akua Donkor, has scored another presidential deal to travel to the city of Rome – not as a follower this time but a representative.

The eccentric politician who was part of President Mahama’s entourage that visited Italy for an official engagement is on her way back to Italy to hold talks on agri-food with Italian Prime Minister, Matteo Renzi.

Madam Akua Donkor, as she’s popularly known, is expected to discuss Ghana’s interest in leveraging Italy’s experience in Agriculture and Agro Processing with the Prime Minister.

“My previous trip to Italy was an eye-opener. There are different types of tomatoes. In Ghana, we use the same kind of tomatoes for everything but I learnt in Italy that there are specific tomatoes used for stews only,” she said.

In an interview with ScrewLife.Com, Madam Akua Donkor said President Mahama has asked her to represent Ghana in Italy because of her enormous involvement in Agriculture in Ghana.

“I have contributed a lot to Agriculture in Ghana. I own a 100,000 acre farm and I have employed several Ghanaians. While in Italy with President Mahama, my apt contributions made the Italian Prime Minister like me instantly. He talked well about me to his Excellency. He said I’m the kind of woman every president needs in his government because I’m overly intelligent (with an IQ level of 300, higher than that of Albert Einstein). That’s part of the reason President Mahama chose me,” she added.

Even though many have raised concerns about the first gentleman of the land sending Akua Donkor to represent Ghana in Italy, the president said Ghanaians have not taken time to understand Akua Donkor that much.

He said if only they had, they would have known she’s a very brilliant woman so sending her to Italy for an official engagement is a step in the right direction.
