Beggar

Association of Ghanaian Beggars with their headquarters stationed at Central Accra, Circle, near the under construction flyover has asked donors and ‘passerbyers’ to stop dropping coins in their collection pots nationwide as we’ve entered a New Year—and the economic hardship has become unbearable.

According to the association, this is not a mere appeal to the public but also a threat.

The General Secretary of the Association, Nii Lawrence Tetteh said “if people do not start dashing out some notes to our members, we will order our members across the country to vote for John Mahama in the upcoming election.”

He added “considering our huge numbers, voting for Mahama is sure to sway the presidency his way and therefore if Ghanaians are not prepare for another 4 years under Mahama, then they should take note of our New Year policy of ‘No More Coins’ to Beggars.”

The Association also mentioned that, they will monitor for the first half of the year to see if Ghanaians have adhered to their threat and act accordingly.
