Shatta Wale

Ghana Revenue Authority was shocked when they listened to Shatta Wale brag that he made over 30 billion old cedis in just 2015—especially, when he paid peanut in tax, indicating that he made chicken change in income.

As part of Shatta Wale’s New Year resolution, he has decided to increase his bragging dose intake; this time graduating from unnecessary hype to hardcore financial gimmick.

On the back of the above resolution, the dancehall artiste who struggled to pay his former manager-BullDog throughout 2015 told Ghanaians yesterday that he made over 30 billion last year.

Shatta Wale told Dr Pounds on the ‘Hitz Gallery’ show said he made over 30 billion old Ghana cedis from events and tours.

“God has been good to me in 2015, I made a lot of money, can’t really count but I made over 30 billion cedis,” he said.

Of course no one can really ascertain the veracity of his claim but at least, he would have to tell Ghana Revenue Authority the truth, the whole truth and nothing else—now that they have extended their interest to his claim.

Let’s hope someone just evaded tax and rather did not lie about the 30 billion—because, both are equally disgraceful with the latter going to hurt his ego than the former.

We are told Shatta Wale will meet with officers from GRA by the end of the week; and he will be going with his lawyer. He has requested that no media men should be allowed.
