Taxi Driver (left) with Vice President Amissah-Arthur

Nana Yaw, the heroic taxi driver who knocked town two armed robbers at Cantonments with his taxi says it’s his wish that the President builds the house he promised him as soon as possible since his rent is almost due.

It will be recalled that President John Dramani Mahama promised to reward the taxi driver with a three bedroom apartment for his courageous act. This was disclosed by Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur when he hosted the taxi driver at the Flagstaff House Monday.

According to Nana Yaw, he does not trust politicians when they promise to do something. “This is Ghana and I know how politicians are in this country. They will promise you nicely but they will fail to fulfill their promises.”

Speaking to ScrewLife.Com in a phone interview, Nana Yaw said his rent will soon expire so if the President truly mean what he said, then he should prove it by building the house for him as soon as possible.

“When I got home later that day, my landlord told me my rent was about to expire so I should either be ready to move out or pay another two years advance. I don’t think I want to pay any advance since I know I’ll soon get a house.”

“I’m therefore pleading with His Excellency to hurry up and build the house for me before my rent expires. If not, I’ll be tempted to collect the two years advance from him,” Nana Yaw said.

As stated by the taxi driver, he’s giving the President one month ultimatum to build the house for him, else he won’t accept it again if it exceeds the one month period.
