Shatta Wale

Few days ago, Ghanaian Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale (born Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr.) made known his intention of wanting to be part of this year’s Ghana Music Awards, organized by Charterhouse, on Adom FM’s ‘Kasahari Levels’.

However, the ‘Kakai’ hit maker says he was only joking when he made that sarcastic statement. According to the self-acclaimed Dancehall King, he still stand by what he said few years ago that he does not want to be part of the scrupulous awards.

Speaking to ScrewLife.Com Tuesday morning after posting on his Facebook wall that he’s getting too many messages about submitting his songs for this year’s Ghana Music Awards, Shatta Wale said he’s not interested in the so-called Ghana Music Awards.

According to him, he said and later posted that just to make fun of the event organizer – Charterhouse Ghana Limited.

“Why would I submit my songs to be part of this shambolic awards scheme? I heard George Quaye say I’m a coward for wanting to be part of the awards again. This is funny. I’m not even dreaming of being part.”

“Whoever knows the whereabouts of George Quaye should tell him to open his ears well when listening to me. It’s unfortunate he can’t differentiate between a sarcastic comment and a real one. I’m currently recording a diss track for them so why would I want to associate myself with them. For my fans, it’s all a joke,” Shatta said.
