Fuel tanker

Asiedu Nketiah may love to wear his wife’s coat but that does not mean he cannot think on his own—sometimes, he says the hard truth.

Over the weekend, a fuel tanker carrying diesel fell on its side at Oforikrom in Kumasi with it contents leaking out.

Instead of bystanders fleeing for their lives, they rather gathered with gallons and bowls to scoop the spilled diesel—when any moment from the fall, the whole place could have exploded in flame.

The shocking behaviour of these people have been described by the Editor of GhanaCelebrities.Com as ‘supremely stupid’ in brutally frank article.

Many other Ghanaians have spoken on the issue with the fact that several people have died from similar fuel leakage and stealing incidents in mind,  but it seems some Ghanaians can’t just learn.

Speaking to Odo Fm in Kumasi, Asiedu Nketiah said when he saw the photo of people stealing from the spillage instead of running for their lives, he said to himself “every Ghanaian is a thief yet that one person who is not, president Mahama gets called a thief.”

He added “what those people were doing is not only dangerous but also criminal. They were stealing from an accident scene and therefore are thieves.”

Apparently, 4 of those fuel thieves have been arrested.

“The tanker overturned whilst taking a turn at the Anloga junction traffic light, spilling its contents. That was the cue for the fuel grabbers, mostly consisting of commercial drivers.

Luckily, police and fire personnel arrived at the scene to take things into control. Four people were also arrested for taking part in the siphoning of fuel,” GhanaCelebrities.Com reported.
