Legendary Ghanaian boxer, Michael Ayittey Okine, otherwise known as Ayittey Powers, has stated that it’s his wish to fight Filipino world champion professional boxer, Emmanuel “Manny” Dapidran Pacquiao, before retiring from boxing.

Interestingly, it’s not just his wish to fight Pacquiao, but to defeat him by way of technical knockout (TKO).

In an interview with Kumasi-based Luv FM, Ayittey Powers said he’s no more going to fight any Ghanaian boxer again because he has realized Ghanaian boxers are not strong enough to fight him.

According to him, he is aiming high in order to achieve greater things in the boxing industry – like becoming a five-division world champion.

Ayittey further stated that fighting Pacquiao would pave the way for him to be fighting great boxers and not local champions.

Asked how serious he was, the great Ghanaian boxer said he has been training massively after his last fight which he unfortunately lost due to a runny tummy he had. He said the training is to prepare him for the Pacquiao fight in future so, that should tell Ghanaians how serious he is.

According to him, his management is working assiduously to make this a reality. Ayittey ended the interview with his usual saying, “What can come can come.”
