Ghana, on Sunday, March 6, 2016 celebrated its 59th Independence Day in a grand style. Just as it’s done in every country when celebrating their independence day, several dignitaries were invited to grace the occasion. Among these notable people was Kenya’s President, Uhuru Kenyatta who was privileged to address guests present at the occasion.

Even though many Ghanaians were happy to hear him speak, the Founder and Youth Organiser of Ghana Freedom Party, Madam Akua Donkor, does not see the need why Uhuru Kenyatta was asked to deliver a speech when she (Akua Donkor) could have delivered it.

Speaking on Montie FM this evening, Akua Donkor said she is more than convinced that President Mahama wants to take advantage of her to win the forthcoming general elections.

According to her, she was expecting President Mahama to invite her to also deliver a speech at the Independence Square instead of letting a foreigner do so.

Madam Akua Donkor further stated that they was no need inviting a foreigner to deliver a speech because the day was not meant for foreigners, rather Ghanaians.

“I am a proud daughter of this land and a very influential politician for that matter. President Mahama is my best friend so I was expecting him to invite me to deliver a speech on the day but he failed to do so. I’m really hurt,” she said.
