Ghanaian Hiplife artiste Nana Yaw Adjei Yeboah Maradona, better known in showbiz as Guru, has lashed out at the organisers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), Charterhouse, for failing to give him at least one award at the just ended 17th VGMA.

According to the ‘Pooley Swag’ hit maker, he does not want to be nominated for the awards again since the awards keep passing by him anytime he’s been nominated.

Guru further stated that he does not know what he has done to the VGMA board members and the entire Ghanaians for failing to vote for him to pick at least a single award.

Out of frustration, the rapper categorically told ScrewLife.Com in an interview that when care is not taken, he will stop making music because he has seen that Ghanaians do not appreciate his music.

Asked why he was not present at the Accra International Conference Center where the awards took place, the NKZ boss said he already knew he wouldn’t win anything on the night so there was no need going there at all.

“It is really heartbreaking to be nominated in several categories every single year without winning just one out of them. I don’t know whether I should term it bad luck or something. I have been having high hopes every year to at least carry home one award but they keep passing by – hence my decision not to step foot at the Accra International Conference Center for the awards this year. Let me make this clear, I don’t want to be nominated again because I am sick and tired of the disappointment. I have been made the Arsène Wenger of Ghana Music Awards. I always win no award at the end of every VGMA,” Guru said.

When ScrewLife.Com staff tried to calm him down, Guru quickly retorted, “mongyae me (leave me alone). As for Charterhouse, me ba bƐ tia wo.”
