Councillor Lutterodt, in a panel discussion on the significance of AU on African Marriages said that all women who do not receive AU Day gifts should divorce their husbands.

According to him, all men who truly love their wives will cease any opportunity to give them gifts especially on holidays.

“You see, if a man truly loves his wife, buying gifts will not be a problem. He will buy her a gift when it’s her birthday, Christmas, Easter, Election Day, May Day, Valentine’s day and even AU Day. We need to take our wives serious” He said.

“Tonight, I will be getting my wife an AU day gift. It will be something African and unique. I won’t deny her of any form of joy today.” He added.

He also said that women should be ready to receive any form of gift on AU Day.

“Women should not reject any gift. They should be ready to receive gifts of any kind and in any form. I repeat, any form”.

The panel discussion was hosted by Joy FM at the Conference Centre on Thursday, May 25, 2017.
