FIFA Tweets Happy 39th Birthday to Ghanaian Defender John Mensah When He Just Turned 33 Years Today
The month of November is actually full of birthdays – and not just ordinary birthdays but that of our soccer icons.
Not too long ago, captain of the Black Stars, ‘Baby Jet’ Asamoah Gyan, celebrated his 30th birthday in grand style at his plush Basilica de Baby Jet mansion – an age we are told his dad, Mr Benard Kwaku Gyan repudiated.
Today, former Ghanaian defender – John Mensah who last played for Nitra FC – turns 33 years, hurray! ScrewLife.Com wishes him the very best in life.
Even though we are very sure of his age, it seems the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), the governing body of association football, does not have the same age in their records.
FIFA, this morning, took to twitter to officially wish the former Sunderland defender a happy birthday. Shockingly, the football association tweeted “Happy 39th birthday to you John. FIFA is proud of your achievements.”
Upon seeing the tweet, John Mensah hurriedly replied FIFA “I’m 33 not 39 years. Don’t quote my age if you’re not too sure of it. Next time, mind your own business.”
Since we were confused and did not know which of the ages to go by, we reached out to John Mensah for clarification. He fumingly replied: “Don’t pay attention to any hater. I’m only 33 years today, just 3 years older than Baby Jet and my dad even knows this.”
One of ScrewLife.Com‘s staff says as a kid, he used to watch John play and he admired him so much. It marvels him that 36 years down the lane, he has all of a sudden become older than the footballer.
As religious as we are, we believe miracles do happen and this might be the handy-work of a very powerful being so join us in shouting a big hallelujah – and if you come across FIFA president, Sepp Blay, tell him with God, all things are possible.
