Akua Donkor and running mate

Akua Donkor, Founder and Leader of Ghana’s most competitive-less political party-Ghana Freedom Party made a grand appearance a few days ago at the Electoral Commission’s office to submit her nomination forms and make the required contentious payment of 50, 000 GHS.

Akua Donkor presented to the EC to rural bank thumb-printed cheques; one being 20,000 GHS and the other being 30,000 GHS.

Now, an EC official-Mr. Osei Nimako has told Peace Fm that, Akua Donkor’s cheques were presented to EC’s bank and they received a notification today saying the cheques have bounced.

“Our bank could not clear the cheques as Akua Donkor does not have sufficient funds in her bank account to back the cheques she issued,” Mr. Nimako said.

Mr. Nimako added that EC will decide on further action to take–and that Akua Donkor has been notified.

However, the EC wouldn’t take a cheque from her any longer should she decides to continue with her filing–if anything at all, cash would be demanded.
