Ghana Armed Forces Tells New Recruits Who Protested Against Training Being Harsh to Join Politics
The Ghana Armed Forces Army Recruits Training School at Shai Hills woke up to a massive demonstration last week. New recruits were seen dressed in their outing attire of black trousers and white shirts chanting war songs towards the instructors’ quarters.
Their agitation was that the kind of training they are asked to undergo is too harsh and humanly impossible. One of the recruits with name withheld said that they trained as though they were ISIS rebels.
This demonstration and agitation from the recruiters who are supposed to protect the country did not order well for the Ghana Armed Forces. Yesterday, the PRO for the Ghana Army, Colonel E Aggrey-Tetteh released a press statement in relation to the demonstration to ScrewLife.Com.
He stated that he is very surprised at the behavior of the young recruiters. “I wonder if they thought being a soldier is like opening a Facebook account”, he said angrily. He added that the best job for these recruiters is for them to join politics.
This is because he believes politics is one of the most easiest and high paying jobs in the country. He continued that the recruiters do not need much training to enter the political world. All they need is to know how to lie and spend money unreasonably.
Colonel Aggrey Tetteh concluded that, his outfit will not accept all the recruiters who demonstrated against them back into the camp—adding that they should take up politics where they need not account to anyone and a precondition to holding a high office is the size of your pot belly and greed.
