Forget Bisa Kdei! D Cryme Says He Deserves the VGMA Artiste of the Year

Even before the nomination list of the 2016 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) comes out, a cross-section of Ghanaians are of the view that Highlife artiste, Bisa Kdei (born Ronald Kweku Dei Appiah) deserves to win the prestigious Artiste of the Year.

However, one popular Ghanaian musician who has been churning out hits after hits since his entry into the music industry, Darlington Kwasi Agyekum, popularly known as Dr. Cryme, is of different opinion. In his view, if any musician deserves to win the VGMA Artiste of the Year, it should be no other person apart from him.

According to the ‘Kill me shy’ hit maker, he did more than enough work under the year of review. Speaking to ScrewLife.Com from his base in Tema, D Cryme said he’s highly optimistic of winning the prestigious award this year. In his opinion, it will be unfair on the part of Charterhouse if they do not nominate him for the award.

“I’ve already filed my nomination and it’ll will be unfair if the organizers fail to nominate me. I played at almost every big show last year – talk of street carnivals, homecoming ceremonies, speech and prize giving days, artistes’ birthday parties, funfairs, weddings etc. Tell me, which Ghanaian artiste worked like this last year? It will interest you to know that after so many years, ‘Kill me shy’ is still reigning due to my hard work,” D Cryme said.

The Twi-Pop General therefore urged all his fans and Ghanaians to vote for him to win the VGMA Artiste of the Year when the nomination list comes out.
