Yesterday, the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Award’s nomination list was revealed and as usual, clothed in controversies and dissatisfaction.

Soon after the release which had Rapper-TeePhlow’s ‘The Warning’ song receiving 4 nominations, social media went GAGA over the fact that the song was released in April 2014 and therefore should not even have qualified to be considered in the year under review-2015.

Following the social media explosion, Charter House, the organisers of the award scheme immediately amended the nomination list—-revoking TeePhlow’s 3 out of 4 nominations without any explanation.

Earlier today, Teephlow told Kumasi based Mercury Fm that, he was shocked to have been nominated in all those revoked category by the VGMA board—because, the truth is that his ‘The Warning’ song was released in April 2014 and not anywhere near 2015.

He said; “I am equally shocked at the nominations which sort of confirms that the board needs to sit up. My song was released in 2014 so for it to be reviewed under 2015 and be nominated, that’s a shock.”
