‘Even If We Have Not Been to the Oscars, We Speak Good English Than Abraham Attah’ Say Jay Foley & Lexis Bill
Currently, Ghanaian radio presenters-Jay Foley of Live Fm and Lexis Bill of Joy Fm are receiving lashes on social media for ridiculing Abraham Attah’s Oscar Speech.
Young Abraham Attah has been globe-trotting the past few weeks, notching up awards and running in top circles; but it seems for some that is not enough.
Attah presented an award during Sunday night’s Academy Awards in Los Angeles, and had some words to say on the night.
Purportedly perceived as having jumbled some words, Live Fm’s Jay Foley, Joy Fm’s Lexis Bill and MzGee reportedly criticised Attah’s performance on the grandest stage of them all.
Abraham Attah is just 15, whose without any acting background secure a role in Netflix’s Beasts of No Nation—and nailed it brilliantly.
It’s understandable why these grown ups who have perfected untraceable foreign accents in their bedrooms cannot celebrate Abraham’s grand achievements with him—and reportedly ridiculed him on radio.
When ScrewLife.Com contacted Jay Foley and Lexis Bill to find out the motive behind the ridiculing, they said; “you people can say whatever you want about us but we don’t care and will not apologize. It’s true we have not been to the Oscars, we don’t even want to be there but our English is far better than your so called international star.”
They continued, “we speak like the Queen—with swag and accents our listeners love so much.”
The truth is, they said more than this but we were tired of repeating ‘Pardon Me’ as we could not really understand much of what they were saying because of their LAFA, so we decided to end the interview.
