Shatta WaleThe global sports brand-Adidas has issued a cease and desist notice to the management of Shatta Wale, sources close to the management has said.

Adidas via the notice has asked Shatta Wale to pull down a recent music video in which he beautifully and proudly wore a red Adidas hoodie, except that it was an apparent fake with the front word saying AdIdas.

The sports wear company claims that, patronizing fakies is an abuse of their brand, and just like Louis Vuitton has sued stars for using knock offs of their brands, they will set a precedent with Shatta Wale for the obvious contempt of their valued brand.

Though Shatta Wale is not denying that the red hoodie is a fake; he is claiming an interesting defence—saying, it was a gift Archipalogo gave him from Kumasi. And therefore, it would be inequitable for the company to sue him when he had no means to ascertain that the hoodie was fake.

A source close to Shatta said; “it is embarrassing that this has happen but Adidas should not take it overboard since Shatta Wale would not have ever knowingingly do that. It was a gift his Kumasi based pal-Archipalogo gave her him and he decided to wear it in his video as a sign of appreciation.”

It’s unclear if Adidas would accept such a cunning explanation to the fraud.
