Following UK’s brexit referendum which has compelled UK’s Prime Minister-David Cameron to resign, finally to step down in 3 months time—many have asked when an African leader will also resign over their many unpardonable political mistakes.

While western leaders continue to resign over slight slip, African leaders remain in power when they err or fail to deliver and somehow manage to even win elections on the back of incompetence and bad governance.

Zimbabwe’s president, Robert Mugabe, 92 years old who has been in power since 1987 has responded to the many social media calls for African leaders to take inspiration and cue from the political decency of the West, saying, “African leaders do not resign, that’s cowardice and the fact that UK Prime Minister-David Cameron has just resigned confirms everything I have said about him—he is weak and a coward.”

Contrary to Mugabe’s position, Chris-Vincent Agyapong Febiri, Editor of GhanaCelebrities.Com says,  “Our African politicians are always on a desperate run to remain at post because politics is their daily bread and fused with their power drunkenness and greed, that’s a recipe for disaster—African’s worst nightmare and cause of our unending struggles.”
